Flu Vaccines Available at School — At No Cost! 💙
Parents/Guardians,
Today or tomorrow, your student will be coming home with a flu vaccine consent form from the School-Based Health Clinic. If you would like your child to receive their flu vaccine at school, simply complete and sign the form and return it to the school.
A few important reminders:
💉 Flu vaccines are provided at no cost through the School-Based Health Clinic.
✍️ We will never give a flu vaccine without parent/guardian consent.
👨👩👧 Students in Pre-K–2nd grade must be accompanied by an adult when receiving their vaccine.
🧑🎓 Older students may receive their vaccine independently in the school clinic with parent/guardian consent.
We are already starting to see positive flu cases in our community, so now is a great time to help protect your child and keep our school community healthy this flu season!
Please look for the consent form in your child’s backpack and return it to the school if you would like them to participate.

Tuesday October 20th - Pink Day - Wear Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness!
$1.00 Donations will be collected and given to the CT Breast Health Initiative.
In the Bus Loop Area - we will have tables set up with Bracelet and Card making stations for students to make bracelets and cards for patients at Yale Smilow!

Students in Ms Conway’s class know fun and learning go hand in hand. Today they played “Quiz Quiz Trade”. Ms. Conway wrote words that match the phonics patterns they are working on in HMH Foundational Skills on notecards. Students walked around and partnered up to read each others cards. Then they trade cards and found a new partner. Students are getting practice reading over 20 words in less than 5 minutes thanks to this fun game! Way to go Ms. Conway’s class!
On 9/6/26, our brass players started with their Yale fellows! Collin and Ryan, two professional brass players studying at Yale for MA in Performance on Tuba and Trombone came in and began lessons with our brass students! Students had a blast working with them! Collin and Ryan will be coming every week on Tuesdays to assist with Brass classes! Thank you to Yale and Ms. Brown for creating this awesome partnership to help foster music in our RW students!!!

Costume Guidelines:
Costumes may be worn to school only if they are manageable and comfortable to wear throughout the day.
Students must be able to sit down in a work space/desk if wearing their costume during the day.
All costumes must be mindful of the school dress code. Costumes must be appropriate for school. Please keep in mind the various ages of students at Ross Woodward and be sure costumes are not too gory or scary.
Costumes involving blood, toy weapons or costumes with similar themes are inappropriate and will not be permitted.

Clipper and Cheese is a Title 1 event that is happening at RW on October 13th for boys who are in need of a FREE HAIRCUT before picture day! The attached flyer has the advertisement and the link to sign up to get a haircut on the back. Once a family has signed up for a time slot, I will provide the permission slip to the student to be returned by October 9th.
There is a waiting list on the sign up genius form as well in case spots run out/ permission sips aren't sent back.
