Check out the attached flyer for some great Summer Reading support!

Due to today's extreme heat which necessitated an early school closing, the Title I Awards ceremony scheduled for this evening at Hillhouse High School will be postponed. We will advise you of a new date for the event as soon as possible.
Due to today’s extreme heat, we will have an early dismissal for all schools today. Schools will dismiss two hours ahead of the normally scheduled time. Transportation will be provided to students who normally ride the bus. There will be no afterschool programs.
Although we realize that early dismissals pose an inconvenience, we decided it was best to act out of an abundance of caution. Thank you for your partnership in ensuring student safety.
Book Fair is on it's way and we need your help!

Hello R/W family!
We have the opportunity to rebrand our school. Rebranding our school involves updating its identity to reflect our values and spirit.
There are two main components to the rebrand:
Logo: a unique symbol or design that represents our school, similar to an emblem for a team
Mascot: a character or animal, such as a lion or eagle, that embodies our school’s pride and energizes our community at events
In addition to the mascot and logo, there are questions about theme and identity.
Our Magnet Theme (Classical Studies) is NOT changing!
Below is a link to a survey for you to share your thoughts and ideas regarding our rebranding. Please complete it by Friday May 16th.
Thank you!

Our small group literacy blocks have been hard at work during our WIN time! WIN - What I Need - time is a sacred academic time at Ross Woodward where students are grouped and instructed based on what they need in specific academic levels. They could receive small group reading instruction, math instruction, ESL tutoring or support services! This time is a sacred time where students are working intensively each day to make growth! Great job Ross Woodward!

Join Us for The Great Give May 6th and May 7th – Together, We Can Make a Difference!
At New Haven Counts, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed in math and access enriching sports programs. Math proficiency is a foundation for lifelong success, yet too many students in our community struggle due to systemic inequities. Additionally, access to recreational sports opportunities remains limited in many neighborhoods. We are here to change that.
Why Your Support Matters
We helped found New Haven Counts in 2018 to build a more cohesive community and ensure that every student has access to high quality, engaging tutoring and mentorship. We have continued to grow and build a community of individuals invested in better outcomes for kids. The work continues and we need your support to ensure we can meet the needs of the students we serve.
Every dollar raised during The Great Give helps us provide:
✅ Free, high-quality math tutoring to students who need it most
✅ Mentorship opportunities connecting students with trained, caring community members
✅ Math learning kits to support at-home engagement and family involvement
✅ Expanding intramural sports programs, creating safe and accessible spaces for youth recreation
✅ Resources for adult learners, helping parents and community members strengthen their math skills for workforce development
Your Gift Creates Lasting Impact
With your generous donation, we can close academic achievement gaps, boost confidence in math, and provide much-needed athletic opportunities for New Haven’s youth. We’re building a community where math is a bridge—not a barrier—to success.
