New Haven Counts is an afterschool math tutoring program. We will be starting the program in a few weeks. September 25th is the tentative first day of tutoring. The program will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 pm to 5:45 pm in the library and gym. Students will receive 1 hour of tutoring and 1 hour of sports (soccer) during this time. During the spring, the students participate in a soccer game where they compete against other schools that are apart of the NEW HAVEN COUNTS program. Permission slips will come home from teachers. If you would like your student to benefit from this program please sign and return the permission slip.
PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO LATE BUS TO TAKE THEM HOME. PARENTS WILL HAVE TO PICK THEIR CHILD UP AT 6:00 PM.
All levels of learners are invited. However, they can be dropped if their behavior becomes a problem.
Please return any signed permission slips to me (Room B-205) or place in my mailbox (LISA FINCH/ GRADE 6).

Dear Ross/Woodward Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers,
On behalf of our entire faculty, we would like to extend a warm, excited welcome back to our Ross/Woodward students and families! We would also like to welcome the students and families who are new to Ross/Woodward to our amazing school! Our faculty is working hard to prepare for the upcoming year, and we cannot wait to see our students back in the building on Thursday, August 28th! Tuesday, September 2, 2025 - First day of school for all Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 Students
Uniforms will be required for the upcoming school year for all students. Information on where to purchase these items may be found below.
Shirts/Sweaters: Hunter Green (Kelly Green) and Navy Blue
Pants, Skirts, Jumpers: Navy Blue, Khaki
Uniforms may be purchased at many local retailers (Walmart, Target, and Old Navy).

Wednesday, August 20, 2025 - New and Returning K – 8 Students and Families 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m.
Thursday, August 21, 2025 – New and Returning K – 8 Students and Families
5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Thursday, August 28, 2025 - All Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 Students with last Names A - L
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in classrooms
Friday, August 29, 2025 – All Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 Students with last names M – Z
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the classrooms
It is strongly recommended that you attend orientation to begin the 2025 – 2026 school year. Orientations will also be recorded for those caregivers who are unable to attend during the scheduled times.
