Ross Woodward students and staff may wear costumes to school that abide by the school dress code and the guidelines below:
Costume Guidelines:
Costumes may be worn to school only if they are manageable and comfortable to wear throughout the day.
Students must be able to sit down in a work space/desk if wearing their costume during the day.
All costumes must be mindful of the school dress code. Costumes must be appropriate for school. Please keep in mind the various ages of students at Ross Woodward and be sure costumes are not too gory or scary.
Costumes involving blood, toy weapons or costumes with similar themes are inappropriate and will not be permitted.

Our Ross Woodward PTO did up a Spooktacular Treats table for our teachers and staff! Thank you to everyone who helps support our PTO to be able to do these fun things for our teachers!!!

Time for our annual Fall Food Drive! Along with the Title 1 Office, we are coordinating this important drive to make sure no family in our community goes without this Holiday Season!
Any student who brings in donations of cans, or boxed items can drop them in the grade level box on the stage (see pictures above).
We are collecting from October 1st to November 16th! Boxes for families will be assembled on November 18th and pick ups for boxes will be on Friday November 20th from 11-12 PM.
*** If you are in need for a Thanksgiving basket - Please email your name by Nov 1st!

Ross Woodward's first annual Clippers and Cheese event was a huge success! We had over 20 students receive haircuts donated by our amazing barber team! Shout out to Mr. James Williams add Mr. Bart Lane for their amazing services donated to our school community! Check them out on social media along with their barbershops in New Haven!!!
Ms. Ceneri’s 6th grade group is working on reading texts fluently. They are currently practicing Maya Angelou’s poem "Caged Bird," which connects directly to the themes students are exploring in their homeroom reading. Students are practicing reciting the poem with fluency, phrasing, and expression, preparing for a final performance in front of their peers.
While students are building their oral reading fluency, they are also delving into the text's deeper meaning through guided class discussions to strengthen comprehension. To broaden their understanding and engagement, Ms. Ceneri incorporates supplementary multimedia resources—such as the short film Caged—helping students analyze literary and visual representations while making meaningful connections across mediums.

Lost and found is looking full! Claim your lost items before the end of the month! All items left in lost and found will be donated on Nov. 1st.
We need your help! Our food drive continues at Ross Woodward! So far we have managed to fill one entire box of donated goods! Can we keep this momentum going? Bring in any canned goods, or boxed goods for donation to the Thanksgiving food drive!

Tuesday October 20th - Pink Day - Wear Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness!
$1.00 Donations will be collected and given to the CT Breast Health Initiative.
In the Bus Loop Area - we will have tables set up with Bracelet and Card making stations for students to make bracelets and cards for patients at Yale Smilow!
