ALERT ALERT - WINNER IN THE HOUSE!!! Ross Woodward showed up at the NHPS Fact Bee to win! Congrats to our second grade finalist along with all our finalists who were so close in each of their grade levels! Knowing your facts matters to help with quick math computation, and accuracy in problem solving especially as students get older and drive into multi step problems. Check out our Game Night - March 24th - for fun take home Math games (and literacy!) for all students!

Third grade's current social studies and magnet unit is about immigration. We partnered with the Connecticut Culture and History Museum for an in class field trip about immigration. Students got to have hands-on learning about what they would pack if they were immigrating to a new country, what life would be like for a new immigrant, pros and cons to immigrating to different places. It really was an amazing experience!!!

Our pre-K4 friends had an awesome time at Common Ground learning all about trees! In pre-K4our students study an entire unit on trees. They learn about different types of trees, leaf shapes, seeds to plants, build their own family trees, and study them around our school building. Students learned skills like how to take pictures of trees on different types of technology and we culminated this unit with the trip to Common Ground to learn how maple syrup is made!

Our MyPath March Madness competition is heating up! After a week of great effort and lots of learning, our Sweet 16 classrooms have officially moved on in the tournament. Students across the school have been working hard passing lessons and growing in their math skills.
This week, those classrooms who are still in our bracket will be competing to see who advances to the Elite 8! The competition is getting tighter and every passed lesson counts! We are so proud of the focus and excitement students are showing as they work through their personalized paths.
Families can help by encouraging students to keep practicing their math skills and celebrate their progress. Stay tuned for our next update to see which classrooms make it to the Elite 8! 🏀🎉
